NIAAA awards project on risky drinking among college students

Dr. Perrotte is part of a team of researchers led by Dr. Timothy Grigsby (University of Nevada – Las Vegas) just awarded a small research grant (R03) from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to investigate risky drinking typologies among U.S. college students. This project was spurred by the onset of a dangerous but popular risky drinking practice referred to as Blackout Rage Gallon (BORG) drinking. The team recently published a paper on BORG drinking (linked here), indicating that half of college students throughout the U.S. either engaged in BORG drinking themselves or personally knew someone who had.
